Give staff permission to use Onvio VAT

  1. In Onvio Centre, select Setup > Permission Groups from the menu bar.
  2. In the Name column, select the permission group that you want to use for granting permission to Onvio VAT.

    Note: If a suitable group does not exist, you can add a new permission group for this purpose.

  3. Select Next.
  4. Select the VAT tab.
  5. Review the following permission settings that you can use to control access to tasks in Onvio VAT.
    • VAT Returns.
    • HMRC authorisation.
    • HMRC Agent/Client Authorisation (64-8).
    • HMRC VAT submission.
  6. To restrict the permission group from doing all these tasks, select Nothing. To allow them to do all tasks, select Everything. To restrict staff from doing some of the tasks, select Custom then either Enable or Disable for each permission setting. 
  7. Select Next.
  8. Check that the Members list includes all staff who should have permission to use Onvio VAT.
  9. To add members from the Available Users list, select the checkbox to the left of their name, then Add.
  10. To remove members, select the checkbox to the left of their name, then Remove.
  11. When you've finished checking the Members list, select Done.

Check a staff member's access to use Onvio VAT

  1. In Onvio Centre, select Setup > Staff from the menu bar.
  2. Select Edit to the left of the staff member's name.
  3. Select the Onvio Access tab.
  4. Select the VAT tab and make sure that the access to use Onvio VAT is set as you intended.

Note: If a staff member's permission to use Onvio VAT is not as you intended, you will need to check the different permission groups to see which one has granted or restricted permission in error.
