Resolve conflicts arising from data migrations
Summary
After starting a migration of client data to Onvio you need to open the Migrations utility to check on the status of your migration.
If Onvio finds multiple matches, a possible match, or a partial match between your migrating data and existing data, it will display a conflict in the Migrations utility. You need to resolve this conflict to complete the migration of the client record.
Before you start
Make sure you're assigned to a permission group that has Migrations enabled.
Options for resolving client data conflicts
- Match. You choose a matching record from the suggested partial matches with data in Onvio. Data in the existing Onvio record that differs from the migrating data will be replaced by the incoming data.
- Create new. You create a new record in Onvio from your incoming data. Existing records in Onvio are unaffected.
- Ignore. You choose not to complete the migration of this client data. It's removed from the list in the Migrations utility.
Steps to resolve conflicts
- In Onvio Centre, select Setup, then Migrations.
- Go to the migration you want to check, then select a Conflicts Found link in the Status column.
- Select Plus in the Partial Matches column.
- Select either Create New, Ignore or Match in the Actions column to resolve each conflict.
- Select Close when you’re finished.
Note: The Migrations utility shows details of migrations started during the last 30 days.
