Set up a multi-factor device
A multi-factor authentication (MFA) device is an object such as a key fob or a small card that is used to increase data security by enabling multi-factor authentication. These portable devices enable you to implement MFA in environments where staff members can't easily use MFA apps on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets.
Supported MFA devices
Currently, Onvio supports the Thomson Reuters Authenticator card, which is an MFA device about the size of a credit card. These cards can be especially helpful as a secondary or backup authentication option you don't have your mobile device with the Thomson Reuters Authenticator mobile app available.
You can purchase an Authenticator card for a nominal cost.
Set up a Thomson Reuters Authenticator card
To pair a card with your account, complete the following steps.
- Log in to Onvio.
- Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, then click the My Profile link.
- Click the Authenticator tab.
- Click the Add Option link.
- Enter your password and click Confirm Password.
- Click Get Started, and when prompted to choose a multi-factor option select Use a Multi-Factor Device.
- On the Multi-factor Authentication Setup panel, enter the device ID in the field provided. The device ID is printed on the back of the card and begins with the letters "TR."
- After entering the device ID, press the button on the Authenticator card to generate a one-time use code on the card itself, then enter that code in the Code field.
- Follow the prompts to complete setup.
Once you complete the pairing process, you can use your Authenticator card to generate one-time codes that you enter when you log in to Onvio.
Use your Thomson Reuters Authenticator card
